Nineteen National Monuments in the American West, listed on this artwork and symbolized by the 19 leaves, appeared on the first “hit list” to be greatly reduced in size or dismantled by the current Republican administration. These are wilderness public lands held in trust for the American people.

This action is part of the Republican land-transfer movement to the States or other entities. The end-game of this transfer is make these unique and irreplaceable lands available to corporations, mainly for mining and development by oil and gas companies.

The pruning or elimination of our wild public-use lands harms not only many species of flora and fauna, but destroys our connection to our own national and cultural history.
