Sara Trail learned to sew at age 4, and is now a successful author, Simplicity pattern and fabric designer. Her teaching practice is hands-on, educative and socially engaged; directed towards providing people a platform to create activist art with fabric. She hopes her nonprofit, the Social Justice Sewing Academy, will begin to broaden the conversation on the use of art as not only an expression of culture, but as an effective avenue for social justice.

This and many other works on this site were created at the Social Justice Sewing Academy, in Berkeley, CA.
