My city, Philadelphia, is one of about 500 sanctuary cities in the U.S. that protects immigrants and refugees from the increasingly cruel immigration policies of our federal Administration. City leaders and activists alike fight against detentions, family separations, deportations, and discrimination. Here, we work to repair the torn fabric of society with compassion, to give cover, safety, and support for those who need it most. We want to be a welcoming haven, a housing, a vessel, and a beacon of hope in a dangerous world.
