At first I didn’t know what I would make, but then I thought about what comes to mind when people think of the United States. For many, people come to the US because they believe it to be the land of opportunity. While for some that may be true, for many it is not; in America 1 in 6 people receive food stamps. Although this is the current state of our nation, this quilt serves as a reminder to those not affected by the current levels of inequality and poverty.
